ORGANIC BRICKS
Topic :
Making bricks from pistachio peanut shells by using the help of fungi (tempeh fungus).
Problem :
People nowadays are utilizing natural resources freely without considering the consequences. For example, people make bricks from clay which they get by eroding hills and mountains bit by bit that clearly destroys the nature, causing avalanche and reducing the natural beauty. In addition, burning bricks to harden clay also produces CO2 gas that can contaminate the air which makes human health disrupted. Therefore, the author tries to innovate to present alternative material solutions for making bricks that environmentally friendly by using pistachio peanut shells as the basic ingredients, which the author named the product as Organic Bricks.
Research Goal :
By using the help of fungi (tempeh fungus), the author wants to utilize pistachio peanut shells into a useful product in order to present alternative material solutions for making bricks that environmentally friendly. The author tries doing research about making bricks from organic waste with the help of tempeh fungus that can be found easily in the market at affordable prices to convince people that waste can be turned into a useful item, so that our nature can be well preserved for our survival.
Research Question :
How is the effectiveness of pistachio peanut shell as an alternative material to make bricks by using the help of tempeh fungus?
Materials :
Pistachio peanut shells, tempeh fungus, water, plastic container, plastic wrap, aluminium foil, flour, stick, oven, mortar and pestle.

Methods :
This research will use an experimental method by experimenting to find the right ingredient composition in making Organic Bricks.
Data Analysis :
A simple statistical analysis of the data concerning the strength of Organic Bricks, which will be make from different composition of materials (flour, pistachio peanut shells, and water), compared to the conventional bricks and conclusions drawn regarding the effectiveness of pistachio peanut shells as an alternative material for making bricks.
